Indie Spa Is The Newest Wellness Destination On The Great Ocean Road

We joined a pool party-style celebration and an exclusive experience prior to the official opening.

Sunnymead Hotel in Aireys Inlet held its official launch party on Thursday 16th February, inviting selected guests to have the first look at the property’s new facilities including pool bar, modern fusion restaurant and new day spa, Indie Spa. Guests enjoyed retro-themed entertainment by Brooks & Baker, live demonstrations in the spa and bathhouse, as well as Asian-inspired canapes from Santara Restaurant.

The facilities were designed to encourage longer stays and offer an experience of the Victorian Great Ocean Road as a ‘complete form’, as co-owner Damien Cerantonio explains, “rather than have the motel as a quick stop over, we wanted to create a destination which is why we added Indie Spa, Santara Restaurant and Sunnies pool bar”.

SPA+CLINIC was exclusively invited to the launch night, and welcomed with an overnight stay at the Sunnymead Hotel, with a delightful taste of Indie Spa’s treatment menu.

Indie Spa joins Lux Spa & Wellness in Anglesea as their second ‘sister’ spa, aimed to cater to the extended community and reach a younger dynamic with smaller groups. Converted from a manager’s residence, Indie Spa will be open from March 2nd. The spa is aimed to cater for individuals, couples and groups with themed treatment rooms and retro styling throughout. Two unique spaces are perfect for shared wellness experiences, a brand-new bathhouse and a Rasul, the inspiration behind the spa’s motto “sip, steam, soak”.

“The word Indie reflects individuality and uniqueness, which is what we have created with our design and treatment menu.”

Co-Founder of Sunnymead Resort & Indie Spa, Damien Cerantonio
