New Bioremodelling Injectable Launches In Australia

And we were at the launch event to get all the information you need.

This week, a new bioremodelling injectable was launched into Australia, celebrated with a launch event on Monday night held by distributor dermocosmetica. Over 200 Australian aesthetic professionals gathered at Doltone House in Sydney to learn more about this ‘game-changing product’, as many injectors call it.

The TGA-approved injectable has been available in Europe for several years, making it well studied and tested and promising visible rejuvenating results.

So what exactly is it?

The bioremodelling product is made of stabilised hybrid cooperative complexes (HCC) of high and low molecular weight ultra pure hyaluronic acid in high concentration, produced with a unique NAHYCO Hybrid Technology and innovative thermal production process patented by ISBA.

How does it work?

With extensive spreadability and low viscosity (which is different to volumising fillers or skin boosters), the injectable is placed on only five injection sites on each side of the face, making it an incredibly quick treatment. It is injected into the superficial subcutaneous layer and continues to flow uniformly through entire anatomic units. The product has a beneficial effect on the following:

  • Collagen
  • Elastin
  • Adipocyte differentiation
  • Myocyte activation

With the highest concentration of HA on the market, it is indicated for contour redefinition and laxity remodelling of the face in Australia (with a body version coming soon). Dr Cara McDonald likened it to a sort of “fertiliser for the skin”, prolonging the skin’s youthfulness. Two treatments, 30 days apart are recommended, followed if necessary by maintenance treatments.

At the launch this week, Dr Dalvi Humzah, Dr Steven Liew, and Dr Cara McDonald presented on the science and studies of the bioremodeller, saying it is a great addition to any injectable clinic as it is easy to perform and has a high patient satisfaction rate. The few injections points mean less trauma and less chance of bruising for the patients, plus, it makes it more efficient for practitioners.

We talked to several practitioners on the night of the launch, all of whom said they have patients who have been asking about this product for a while now. There certainly hasn’t been a launch as anticipated as this one for a while, and we can’t wait to see if the bioremodelling product will be as successful here as it is overseas.

Update as of 31/10/22:

Two months in, we asked Dr Naomi McCullum, Owner of The Manse clinic, about her experience with the product thus far:

“We LOVE [the bioremodelling injectable]. It is exactly as described by our international colleagues. We now understand how it became such a large part of the UK injectable market. The satisfaction rate is fantastic. We are starting to get before and after images through, which is great. It’s really popular with that subset of patients who want to get gorgeous skin and natural results.”

“Demand has been enormous. The Australian distributors ran out of stock, so that shows that the demand exceeded their forecasts. The skin quality improvement is so beautiful, and patients can really see it. We are learning with it and using it in different ways as well. The area where it noticeably outperforms other products is in the neck. However, we’re finding that for better results on the neck we use two syringes rather than the recommended one per session.”
