Here Are The Treatments Frequent Flyers Get At The Qantas First Class Lounge Spa

SPA+CLINIC caught up with Kristen Laing and Dr Jean Laing, founders of LaGaia Unedited.

Forever adapting to meet the changing consumer’s needs, the spa industry is still undoubtedly booming. Not only are spas looking to expand their treatment menu, but also their locations, too. Now luxurious spa treatments are offered for Frequent Flyers in the Qantas First Class Lounge, who has partnered with LaGaia Unedited to offer their unique signature touch.

SPA+CLINIC sat down with founders of LaGaia Unedited, an Australian Mother & Daughter Duo, to discuss their decision on entering into their partnership with Qantas, along with a breakdown of their treatment menu and their views on what truely delivers a first-class experience at every touch.

What drove the decision to partner with Qantas?

Partnering with such an iconic Australian company was an historic company moment for LUE. As a proudly Australian made and owned company, Qantas was drawn to us for our luxury presentation and active formulations, with hypersensitivity and pH balance as our formulation focus, we are suitable across the board for the traveller’s skin needs.

We were extremely excited to have the opportunity to present a customised co-labelled native aroma and Signature Amenity range for lounges and aircrafts world-wide. Our sustainability efforts around the ocean and education passion for sunscreen and skin health were driving points in our offering that Qantas resonated with. Partnering with an internationally recognised business drives our mission for Unedited Beauty, sunscreen formulation and UV awareness, a conversation gaining momentum around the world.

What treatments are offered in the first class spa?

LaGaia Unedited’s signature Earth conscious collection is formulated from Australia’s best native botanicals and vital elements. This Spa experience allows passengers to rejuvenate from daily life and embrace serenity before embarking on what is next.

Our menu offering includes 4 treatments designed for the traveller. LUE specialises in travel and destination spa, it’s often forgotten what the body and skin goes through during the journey. From take-off to touch-down we are block booked; taking meetings, lugging baggage, wrangling and coordinating children, mentally checking off our To Do list. The menu is designed around what our mind, skin & body endures during travel, and the First experience is about eliminating swinging around luggage, racing from gate to gate and the dehydrating effects of a pressurised cabin experience and radiation exposure.

The treatment menu comprises of 4 signature treatments:

  • “Lift Off” – Facial Elevation
  • “Baggage Drop ” – Shoulder, Neck & Scalp Massage
  • “Dream- Aligner” – Precious Hot Stone Back Massage
  • “Stretch Your Legs” – Foot Refresh/Massage

In your own views, what encompasses an impressive first-class experience?

Service, service, service. We know that it’s the small moments we share with our guests that make for an incredible First-Class Spa experience. Answering any questions they might have about product use, skin concerns or directing them to other helpful services in the lounge are key to ensuring their journey is as stress free as possible. From entrance into the UNEDITED First spa, we focus on relaxation and hydration. The in-spa experience doesn’t end in the lounge for Qantas First travellers, as LUE is the product partner for in-flight, we have also devised an inflight skin ritual.  Every Qantas First traveller can have a spa experience with LUE in-air.

This First-Class experience can also go home with them, as we have brought the Qantas Signature range to retail, available at our online store.
