Dr Jing Wang’s Experience With Exosomes

Exploring the horizons of exosome therapy in aesthetics.

In healthcare and aesthetics, exosome therapy is emerging as a revolutionary approach with remarkable potential. Treatment with exosomes holds great promise in a wide variety of healthcare needs, including dermatology and aesthetics.

What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are small nano-sized vesicles that are produced and released by cells in the body. Exosomes contain a variety of molecules including proteins, RNA (ribonucleic acid), lipids (fats) and other bioactive substances. The contents of exosomes vary depending on the type of cell they were derived from.

Once exosomes are secreted or pushed outside a cell they play a crucial role in cell-to-cell communication with the ability to transfer information and change the behaviour of neighbouring cells.

This intercellular communication can influence:

  • Cell regeneration
  • Tissue repair

It is important to note that exosomes are not cells themselves; they are small vesicles released by cells and are incapable of reproduction. Their main function is to influence other cells and this characteristic gives them a favourable safety profile.

Currently, exosomes have been used to reduce wrinkles, pores size, pigmentation, oiliness, increase skin elasticity and collagen contents and improvement in evenness of skin and vascularity. Additionally, it is also used for hair regeneration and treating acne scars.

Aesthetic manufacturer Xytide identified the strengths in clinical evidence of exosomes, and took the necessary steps to produce the revolutionary product known as Exomide. Exomide is a relatively new-to-market revolutionary skin and scalp care product that leverages exosome therapy, the cutting-edge technique that originated in South Korea.

Exosome therapy for skin rejuvenation uses nanosized vesicles called exosomes, which are secreted by stem cells and carry essential molecular information for cell-to-cell communication and regeneration.

Exomide delivers stem cell-derived exosomes to target skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. Studies have shown exosome therapy can assist directly with increasing skin elasticity, increased collagen production, reducing wrinkles, pores, pigment, whilst improving the evenness and texture of the skin.

During her work as a general practitioner, Dr. Wang has a keen passion for skin care and anti-aging medicine, whilst also regularly presenting on SBS radio on medical topics and health prevention.

We spoke to Dr Jing Wang, Aesthetic Practitioner. Dr Jing has extensive experience in performing non-surgical cosmetic procedures using injectable medicine, with an artistic evaluation of the face complimenting her knowledge of facial anatomy. Her keen interest is within dermal fillers and injectables, with now a fortified skill with using Exomide exosomes.

We caught up to discuss her experience in using this unique product in her daily practice.

What benefits have you personally seen for your patients’ skin quality when using Exomide™ exosomes?

Exomide™ has proven results to enhance skin quality, texture, colour and tone. Patients have consistently reported improvement in skin elasticity, firmness and thickness.  Several patients have also noticed a reduction in pore size and a boost in skin radiance.

What particular conditions respond brilliantly to Exomide™ that you have observed?

Exomide™ is a great treatment for overall skin improvement and rejuvenation with the ability to treat a range of conditions.

The most common include fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, and pigmentation. Exosome signals the skin to behave young again, stimulating an abundance of collagen and elastin production. When applied topically, results show improved tone, quality, and clarity of the skin.

Exomide™ is also an effective treatment for hair rejuvenation. Exosomes help the hair follicles grow, speed up the hair growth cycle, increase hair density and help protect the hair follicle cells from damage caused by things like stress and hormones.

How have you combined Exomide™ with your other modalities?

I have combined Exomide™ with laser devices, RF micro-needling, and a variety of needling devices. I have used it post-procedural for enhanced healing and skin rejuvenation with great results.
