BABOR Announces A New Co-CEO

Tim Waller has been appointed co-CEO at Babor Beauty Group as the family company shifts its focus to international expansion.

Tim Waller has joined the Babor Beauty Group’s senior leadership team as co-CEO and “Group Brand President BABOR & Premium Brands”.

Waller has been part of the Babor Beauty Group since 2016 heading Babor Americas, where he built up the brand sustainably in the USA, Canada and the Caribbean and established innovative sales partnerships. Previously, he held senior management positions at international divisions of L’Oréal and the Estée Lauder companies.

“Tim has extensive international experience and combines strategic foresight with a team player attitude. We are looking forward to developing this company, together,” says Isabel Bonacker, co-owner of Babor Beauty.

Now heading the international arm of Babor Beauty Group, Waller will manage the corporate strategy as well as global marketing and sales. The position fits in alongside the managing directors Horst Robertz (Operations) and Stefan Kehr (Finance and HR).

“Tim joining the Babor HQ team is exciting news for Babor Australia!” says Anouk Thebault, managing director at Babor Australia. “His vision and direction for the brand demonstrate the need for the Australian spa business along with product development requirements to fit the consumer demands. Tim is also very personable and I am confident he will take the brand into the future with success.”

The German-based family business has become a major global player in the skincare industry and home to some of the most coveted beauty brands, and the new setup of its senior management reflects the further development and expansion of the Babor Beauty Group. The Babor brand has developed from a B2B niche brand to a market leader in professional skincare in Europe and a global multichannel skincare brand, and Waller’s appointment is set to continue the company’s double-digit growth in the coming years.

“It is my intention to further strengthen our professional skincare heritage and anchor the brand Babor firmly in the world of expert skincare, while continuing to drive brand awareness and accelerate internationalisation and multi-channel distribution,” says Waller. “The Babor Beauty Group is a powerhouse for innovation, sustainability and beauty. This is an extremely dynamic and fun environment, which needs transparency, an agile organisational structure, and strong cross-functional collaboration. That’s why I’m really looking forward to working closely with the teams of Horst Robertz and Stefan Kehr.”
