Why This New Cold Ablative Fibre Laser Is A Game Changer

Device Consulting is set to unveil its latest breakthrough in the aesthetics industry – UltraClear™.

On the eve of the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologist’s annual symposium on 29th February, this game-changing cold ablative fibre laser that promises to redefine the landscape of aesthetic procedures will be revealed – with Device Consulting introducing the revolutionary technology, UltraClear, to Australian shores.

The device launch showcase boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including Grazina Fechner, Dr. Shobhan Manoharan, Dr. David Friedman, Dr. Jacqueline Luna, Prof. Greg Goodman, and other renowned experts. Attendees can anticipate an array of highlights, such as live demonstrations, insightful case-study discussions, and valuable financial success strategies.

With no similar device in the Australian market to compete, the lecture will include “Neck Coring with UltraClear Cold Ablation Laser” and “Vector Coring for Non-Surgical Face Lift”, to demonstrate coring as a novel non-surgical approach to skin remodelling for all skin types.

UltraClear™: The Breakthrough in Laser Face Remodelling

At the forefront of this revolutionary advancement is UltraClear™, a cold ablative fibre laser that harnesses the cutting-edge capabilities of fibre laser technology. This next generation technology delivers a train of fractionated ablative and sub-ablative pulses, setting it apart from traditional laser resurfacing methods, with no consumables. The result is optimal skin rejuvenation that addresses a spectrum of facial aging concerns, including sun damage, fine lines, deep wrinkles, deep scars, and acne scars.

One of the key features that sets UltraClear™ apart is its ability to create microchannels in the skin, triggering a natural exfoliation process. These microchannels, generated through fractionated ablative sub-pulses, play a pivotal role in stimulating collagen production without the need for excessive bulk heating. This innovative approach ensures that the skin’s natural rejuvenation processes are activated, resulting in a more youthful and radiant complexion.

Quicker, More Comfortable, and Precise Treatments

UltraClear™ is designed to provide practitioners with a tool that not only revolutionises aesthetic procedures but also enhances the overall patient experience. With its advanced technology, this cold ablation fibre laser offers quicker and more comfortable treatments compared to traditional methods. The precision afforded by UltraClear™ allows practitioners to target specific areas with unprecedented accuracy, ensuring optimal results for their patients.

Safety Across All Skin Types

Ensuring the safety of patients across all skin types is a top priority for Device Consulting. UltraClear™ is specifically engineered to provide the highest possible safety and effectiveness for a diverse range of skin tones and types. By leveraging fractionated ablative sub-pulses, the technology minimises the risk of adverse reactions, making it a versatile and reliable option for practitioners working with various clientele.

We caught up with leading Dermatologist, Dr Shobhan Manahoran, to find out his take on being one of the few Australian Dermatologists to trial the innovative device.

Dr Shobhan, share with us the science-heavy mechanism behind the UltraClear™ device

The UltraClear™ is the world’s first cold ablative fibre laser.  Even though ablative lasers of various wavelengths have existed for many years, this device, with a mid-infrared wavelength of 2910nm, delivers energy at peak cellular water absorption, enabling for clean removal of tissue, with minimal surrounding thermal damage.

Its superficial mode (3D Miracl™) is indeed a true anaesthesia-free, lunch-time treatment, that enables for natural exfoliation of surface skin cells, allowing for rejuvenation and a glow for all skin types.  The deeper Ultraclear modes, enable for intensive treatments for more advanced changes in deeper wrinkles, tone and texture, as well as scarring.  The device also has technology to perform laser coring, which provides a novel method of skin tightening and lift.

What feature of the laser device do you find the most unique or interesting, given your background as a highly-experienced Dermatologist?

The laser-coring is extremely exciting technology, whereby the device creates, at 5000Hz pulses, a series of microchannels within the skin, of about 360 microns in diameter each.  These allow for significant tissue tightening and lift, the likes of which we have not really experienced with non-surgical devices in the past.

In my hands, we have started seeing some very promising lifting results for jowls, the jawline and neck, and when combined with the Clear™ and Clear+ modes, exciting improvements on surface texture also.

What particular skin conditions or indications are you finding success with at the moment with this device?

We are still early in our experience with the device, but we are starting to see some impressive outcomes in fine and deeper lines and wrinkles, overall skin texture and tone, and with coring, lift along the lower face and upper neck.  We are also seeing promise in acne, surgical and traumatic scars.

What downtime would a patient expect from an UltraClear™ treatment, and what post care would be required?

The superficial 3D Miracl™ mode is truly a versatile game-changer for a rapid, light rejuvenation for all skin types, and with a treatment only taking 15 minutes and no anaesthetic requirement, this has already become a popular treatment for lunchtime rejuvenation and glow for many of our patients.

This indeed is one of the key features that sets the UltraClear apart from traditional fractional ablative treatments, which often require 1-2 weeks of a messy recovery and the need to be performed under significant levels of anaesthesia.

With 3D Miracl™, there is literally no downtime, with patients returning to work with light mineral makeup the next day.

The deeper UltraClear™ and Coring modes are often tolerated with topical or inhaled light anaesthetic, and have a recovery time ranging from 1-5 days generally.  We are seeing patients who have had other fractional ablative treatments with us in the past, remarking how significantly more comfortable the UltraClear treatment is, and how rapid the recovery has been.
