For 50 years, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna has been the leading 360° worldwide event for the professional beauty sector and an international platform for the cosmetics and wellness industry.

Cosmoprof’s exhibition space covers the entire BolognaFiere exhibition centre and is dedicated to the various sectors of the beauty industry: Perfumery and Cosmetics, Natural Products, Packaging, Machinery, Contract Manufacturing and Raw Materials, Beauty and Spa, Hair and Nails.

Vast numbers of exhibitors, visitors and buyers from overseas are turning this event, year after year, into a proper international “hub” where professionals and decision makers meet to develop their business.

The 2016 edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna reported record numbers, with more than 200,000 visitors and 2,510 exhibitors, of which 73 percent came from abroad.

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna and the International SPA Association (ISPA) have also announced a new collaboration, focusing on leveraging the assets of each organisation to help further the reach of ISPA through the Cosmoprof Worldwide network on a global basis, begging at the 2017 event.

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, the B2B leading international exhibition on trends related to the cosmetics industry organised by Bologna Fiere, celebrates its 50th anniversary from Friday, March 17, to Monday, March 20, 2017.

To celebrate the milestone, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna will present a new area, Cosmoprime, dedicated to retail companies representing a specific market going from high-end mass market to prestige and niche perfumery.

Cosmoprime will welcome beauty professionals from March 16-19, in conjunction with Cosmopack, the event dedicated to the beauty supply chain, from raw materials to machinery, from counter manufacturing to packaging.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

You will learn about client history taking, contraindications, realistic expectations, choosing appropriate clients, therapeutic parameters, clinical end points, hair reduction, tattoo removal and treating pigmentation and vascular conditions using laser and IPL.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

You will learn about:

  • Preparing a laser room
  • Performing a patient consultation
  • Obtaining informed consent
  • Assessing contraindications and appropriateness for laser/IPL treatment
  • Explaining what treatment involves
  • Discussing expected side effects, risks and adverse outcomes
  • Patch testing
  • Performing skin rejuvenation and tattoo removal
  • Providing follow up care and advice
  • Determining the need for anaesthetic
  • Recommending post treatment advice
  • Documenting treatments
  • Assessing pain and discomfort
  • Managing bruising, swelling, pigment changes, burn, activation of herpes simplex virus
  • Determining the need for cooling or smoke evacuation devices
  • Donning personal protective equipment and infection control
  • Developing a referral pathway.

You will be provided with course notes, plenty of hands-on experience and on completion, a Certificate of Attendance that you can use for your CPD.

This experience may be used to commence a log book. You will be invited to complete the Advanced course at a reduced rate if you have not already completed it.

MODELS

Models will be provided on the first day then to facilitate in the learning sessions you will be invited to practice your technique on your colleagues on the second day. There will be no cost for any treatments you have.

PREREQUISITES

It is mandatory to have a laser safety certificate recognised by Queensland Radiation Health to enrol.

It must not be more than one year since you completed your certificate.

WHO IS TEACHING IT?

Two highly experienced nurse practitioners, Elissa O’Keefe and Gordon Lonie, have plenty of real-world experience and are great clinicians and teachers.

They have 60 years of clinical experience between them. They will help give you the confidence to understand treating common cosmetic presentations with laser and IPL technology and improve your clinical practice skills.
