Meet a new comprehensive wellness concept for Rosewood.
Ultra-luxury brand Rosewood Hotels and Resorts have invited guests to kick off the new year by embarking on “a superior, holistic health and wellness experience at Asaya Hong Kong, the ultimate new urban wellness destination situated in the Rosewood brand’s home city of Hong Kong.”
Named after the Sanskrit term for setting an intention or hope to propel self-change and transformation, Asaya welcomes individuals from all walks of life to pursue their personal wellness goals in a nurturing and supportive environment. It focuses on five key wellness pillars – emotional balance, fitness and nutrition, physical therapies, skin health, and community. The facilities occupy 3,716 square metres (40,000 square feet), set over two dedicated floors of indoor-outdoor space in the iconic Rosewood Tower, within the new Victoria Dockside development on Tsim Sha Tsui’s waterfront.
According to Rosewood’s official announcement late last week, “Asaya’s innovative approach transcends conventional ideas of spa to offer best-in-class integrated treatments from a variety of traditions; personalised wellness programmes tailored around guests’ needs and goals; and specialised retreats and workshops across a wide range of disciplines that address the fundamentals of health and wellbeing and affect long-lasting change across all age groups.”
Full spectrum assessments will be carried out in order to recommended customised wellness programmes for guests, including Wellness Lifestyle Assessments that evaluates the 12 dimensions of wellness in our lives, plus genetic analysis, body composition analysis, and 3D Facial Skin Analysis. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by the wellness concierge before moving on to either the fitness centre with men’s and women’s changing rooms, private pools and sauna and steam facilities, or perhaps the Harbour Studio (for expert-led yoga, aerial yoga, barre and TRX classes) outdoor infinity swimming pool, poolside bar or Asaya Kitchen (eco-conscious dining). There is also the Asaya Nail Boudoir (hair and nail stations) water pools, Tranquillity Lounge, herbal tea bar and outdoor seating, and Glass House with floor-to-ceiling, 360 degree view windows. And then there is the Asaya Tonic Atelier.
With personalisation at its heart, the Asaya Tonic Atelier creates one-of-a-kind, natural apothecary, using salts, clays, freshly grown herbs, sea salt, sugar and organic aromatherapy to blend with carrier oils to create bespoke concoctions for the guests to administer as part of their personalised bathing rituals in the Asaya Urban Sanctuary Suites. Facial treatments focus on the biological wellbeing of the skin, with the menu including devices like Radio Frequency, photo-facials, Intense Pulsed Light therapy, and Tribella. At the Asaya Urban Sanctuary Suites, spa treatments are enjoyed in the privacy of one’s own heated marble bathhouse with deep soaking tub, and sensory rain showers featuring temperature, lighting and fragrance selections. Each includes a private outdoor garden.
Rosewood Hotel Group CEO Sonia Cheng envisioned a comprehensive new destination for wellness, with the purpose of creating innovative solutions as an antidote to the ailments of busy, stressful urban living. “At Rosewood Hotel Group we recognise that now more than ever, there is a need for a sense of greater well-being and a profound shift in the way people perceive wellness,” said Cheng. “Once it was regarded as a luxury ‘add on,’ however, now it is infused into every aspect of our day-to-day lives, from how we travel, to the source of our food, to our personal and physical nurturing, accepting the need for emotional self-care, as well as a growing consciousness towards fostering greater community in today’s fast-paced, technology driven world.”
Education is also a big focus. Asaya will play host to specialist retreats by world-renowned visiting expert practitioners, that combine the best traditional and alternative therapies to treat, heal, inspire and empower every participant to realise their goals and aspirations in order to achieve deep and positive change. Quarterly Asaya Wellness Forums will also be hosted, exploring the ways of wellness with a headline programme of world-class guest speakers and preeminent voices in wellness, mindfulness and multi-faceted health.
