Gwinganna Opens New $1.7m Wellness Complex

To accommodate for rising demand across the wellness tourism industry, Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat has undergone an expansion of its facilities, launching a brand new custom designed wellness education complex, which aims to assist all guests in improving the quality of their overall health, wellbeing and lifestyle.

A substantial $1.7m renovation, the new complex will provide more space and comfort for guests, featuring new amenities and a new welcome and arrivals area, a full suite of audio visual equipment, plenty of natural light and fresh air, and new wellness consultation rooms. Also featuring a spacious outdoor deck and undercover parking spaces.

Stays at Gwinganna incorporate a major focus on wellness education, with informative seminars on offer by leading practitioners and special guest presenters. The lifestyle retreat, which includes the largest spa in the Southern Hemisphere, currently offers fully inclusive stay packages from two to seven days, and invites guests into a wellness haven where even substances like alcohol, outside food and caffeine are prohibited. Guests can choose how much or how little they wish to do including spa, wellness, emotional wellbeing, stress management and private training sessions.

The educational component of a stay at Gwinganna has also been expanded with two new components to help guests before or after their stay. Wellness at Home is available as an online package with videos and audio sessions, or also as a book, comprising of a collection of interviews, activities, guides and information with over 15 key presenters and special guest contributors. Covering four pillars of wellness, each section provides support for a busy lifestyle and includes detox, sleep, nutrition, stress and heart health.

“Gwinganna offers more programs, more space and more staff than any other Australasian wellness retreat,” says General Manager and Wellness Director, Sharon Kolkka. “It is unique in providing a support tool for guests when they return home. Whilst nothing can replace the impact of spending time at our beautiful mountain retreat surrounded by Mother Nature and our supportive staff, Wellness at Home can inspire lifestyle change.”

To coincide with the renovations, Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat will also expand its already extensive spa and wellness menu this spring, with four new treatments. The new treatments will incorporate Ayurveda Aromatherapy, which is also seeing current growth in popularity, and products feature ingredients such as turmeric, ginger and tulasi (holy basil), and use the award winning Rasayana blend which assists the body’s natural detoxification process.
