Magnetic Attraction

Fluttery, thick lashes are universally attractive. This a truth acknowledged by scientific studies, celebrities and most importantly, your clients.

Remarkably, the law of attraction is at the heart of this revolutionary “falsie” concept – magnetic eyelashes.

They’re available online – but, hey, maybe you could stock them!

The idea, generated by former real estate agent, US-based Katy Stoka, has caught the eye of influencers globally.

If semi-permanent eyelash extensions or special occasion makeup (including fake eyelash application) feature on your treatment menu, chances are you’re already anticipating a seasonal surge. (Bring on The Melbourne Cup and spring weddings.)

Let’s not forget, though, that traditional “glue-on” falsies literally won’t gel with all your festive influx – blame resistant lid shapes, sensitivity and oily skin.

Plus, when eyelash extensions start to fall out (one by one) the overall effect is not unlike a sunless tan patching off. “Hurry up touch-up day,” think clients.

Magnetic eyelashes could potentially solve the above issues and in return, give you a thick, luscious reason to increase the price of your makeup offering, or make a great up-sell to extension addicts.

Applying them is super simple! Katie demonstrates here in an online tutorial, or get the key takeaways below:

lash21. The magnets are just visible here on “the line”. The these sandwich together around the real eyelashes, fastening by forcefield (where curlers normally clamp).

2. Holding the outer corners of the lower magnetic falsies, place them on outer corner on the eye, under the line of real eyelashes. Shut eye, then with the other hand, place the top lashes on top of real eyelashes.

3. Once the magnets naturally align, pinch to secure, then slowly release finger-grip from the lashline.

4. To remove, press where the magnets cinch then gently wiggle them free!

The product comes in a variety of forms from “fillers” to “bold”. They are also infinitely reusable.

Such a genius concept, the One Two Lash online store appears to have sold out.

Prediction: a bevy of copycats to pop up before you can blink.
