SkinCeuticals Celebrates Two Decades Of C E Ferulic

Celebrating 20 Years of C E Ferulic.

Marking a significant milestone in clinical skincare, SkinCeuticals hosted an intimate celebratory dinner on April 2nd at Melbourne’s Di Stasio Città, marking 20 years of its cult-favourite antioxidant serum, C E Ferulic.

The evening brought together a select group of Australia’s leading plastic surgeons, dermatologists, cosmetic physicians, media, and skin influencers, including Gemma Dimond, Hannah English, and Joanna Fleming. Guests were welcomed with fresh oysters and antioxidant-inspired cocktails, followed by a three-course menu served in the venue’s architecturally striking private dining space.

SkinCeuticals’ Head of Medical & Education, Dr Tania Romano, addressed the room with insights into the formulation’s staying power in a constantly evolving skincare landscape.

The event also served as a retrospective, highlighting two decades of research and professional endorsement behind the product many consider a benchmark in antioxidant skincare.

A Formula That Sparked a Skincare Movement

Launched in 2005, C E Ferulic was one of the first topical antioxidants to gain widespread clinical backing. Developed by Dr Sheldon Pinnell, the brand’s founding scientist, the formula combined 15% L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), 1% alpha tocopherol (Vitamin E), and 0.5% ferulic acid—ingredients carefully balanced to deliver both stability and skin penetration, challenges that had limited earlier vitamin C serums.

The result was a product that not only promised antioxidant protection but also stood up to clinical scrutiny. Backed by peer-reviewed research and patented under the Duke Antioxidant Patent, it became a reference point in discussions around effective topical antioxidants.

Still Relevant, Two Decades On

While trends in skincare come and go, the enduring popularity of C E Ferulic suggests a continued appetite for products supported by science and experience. For many Australian clinics and practitioners, it remains a trusted part of both preventative and corrective skincare plans.

SkinCeuticals’ 20-year anniversary dinner was more than a celebration of a single product—it was a nod to the intersection of scientific research, clinical application, and lasting relevance in an industry known for constant reinvention.

“It’s remarkable that even after 20 years, SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic continues to stand out—backed by ongoing research into its skin-protective, reparative, and synergistic benefits, especially when used alongside professional skin procedures. As our understanding deepens around the long-term impact of environmental stressors on skin health, it’s reassuring to see C E Ferulic remain the gold standard for both prevention and maintenance.

For me, there’s no reason to switch. It’s not just about habit—it’s about the science. This serum is a non-negotiable part of my daily skincare routine, and it comes with me everywhere, even on holiday.

Thank you to Dr Sheldon Pinnell and the SkinCeuticals team for creating a product that continues to deliver results decade after decade.”
