What To Expect From Cosmetex 2019

Held this weekend (Friday 5th – Saturday 6th April) at The Hilton, Sydney, Cosmetex has returned for another year. Backed by the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery, Cosmetex aims to bring some of the world’s best cosmetic industry professionals together to share inspiring ideas, panels and presentations, and showcase cutting-edge technology and revolutionary cosmetic surgery innovations. Cosmetex19 will fuse plenary sessions with world-renowned speakers, hands-on masterclasses and bespoke demonstrations for delegates, giving them an unrivalled platform to propagate ideas that are changing the cosmetic surgery world.

So what can we expect from this year’s summit? Here are some highlights over the two-day program:

Friday

Paul Denham from Apollo Communications will be talking about the complex relationship between social media arrangements and cosmetic surgery recipients in Is the Marriage Between Cosmetic Surgery and the Media a Happy One?

Roger Blow form Cove Legal delves into the murky world of online reviews, and offers some strategic considerations on how businesses can protect themselves from harmful and often vindictively false information in his session Protecting Your Reputation Online – Some Legal Answers.

Emma Gibson from Avant will host The Risks & Responsibilities of Telemedicine, discussing the use of tele-consults for patients seeking cosmetic injectables, and how to best contain risk and conduct within guidelines during their use.

This year’s summit will be more interactive than previous years, with plenty of hands-on sessions and live demonstrations to attend. In fact, the schedule is so jam-packed with education sessions and workshops, you may experience some trouble selecting your choices! Friday’s includes Ultherapy, Ultrasound, body contouring, injectable products and techniques, and much more. Panels will continue throughout the afternoon with a range of industry experts demonstrating their expertise.

Saturday

A big topic of the moment, Facial Filler Induced Blindness – Can You Avoid It & How Do You Manage It is a session not to be missed. Led by Dr Angelo Tsirbas & Dr Benjamin Burt, Australia’s top Oculoplastic Surgeons, the session will present viewers with the latest research and methods of prevention.

Dr Francisco de Melo (UAE) will also lead an innovative masterclass on Facial Rejuvenation: Principles & Clinical Applications, in which he will propose a treatment algorithm of combination therapies, covering both surgical and non-surgical procedures.

The final day also plays host to interactive talks and workshops, such as lower face beautification, managing difficult patients, Non-Ablative Technologies, and further injectable techniques.

“Cosmetex19 is the one event on the cosmetic surgical and cosmetic medical calendar not to be missed. I look forward to personally welcoming you to sparkling Sydney in April.”
