WA’s First Aesthetic Conference: What To Expect From This Unmissable Industry Event

Western Australia is set to make its mark on the aesthetic map with the launch of its very first dedicated aesthetic conference, bringing together leading voices, innovative technologies, and critical conversations in one full-day program.

Founded by WA industry advocates Jess Ferris Registered Nurse (RN) and Dr Michael Richman, the inaugural WA Aesthetic Conference aims to provide a premium platform for education, networking, and elevating standards across skin, wellness, and body. Set to take place in Perth from May 16-17, the conference reflects the growing demand for professional development opportunities in WA that match the calibre of east coast events.

“We wanted to create something that not only showcases the innovation coming out of WA, but also connects our local community with national leaders in aesthetics,” says Jess Ferris, who co-founded the event alongside Dr Michael Richman.

A Power-Packed Program

The conference program is as diverse as it is timely, with sessions curated to reflect both current challenges and future-forward trends in aesthetics. Delegates can expect a mix of science-backed presentations, panel discussions, and brand showcases, with a strong focus on clinical insights and patient outcomes.

A standout session will be the Signature Skin Panel, hosted in partnership with SkinCeuticals, and featuring Dr Charles McKibbin, cosmetic physician Dr Sam Aravinth, and SkinCeuticals’ own Dr Tania Romano. This session will dive into evidence-based skin strategies, clinical protocols, and advanced product integration for results-driven practices.

Also garnering attention is the Menopausal Considerations in Aesthetics session, exploring the physical, hormonal, and emotional changes that affect aesthetic treatments for peri and post-menopausal clients. Experts Kellie McChord, Manisha Singh, and Amanda Sabel will provide a 360° look at how clinics can better support women during this life stage, both with empathy and science.

A Resurgence in Body Contouring

Body shaping treatments are experiencing a noticeable resurgence, and the conference is tackling the trend head-on with a focused segment on Body Contouring Technologies. Cosmetic surgeon Dr Ian Chinsee will present on the performance and positioning of EmSculpt, while Dr Tammy Tai will share her experience with Venus Concept devices, particularly in addressing post-partum body concerns. This session will speak to both clinical outcomes and the evolving client motivations behind body treatments in 2025.

Why WA?

While the aesthetic landscape has long been dominated by events in Melbourne and Sydney, the emergence of a WA-based conference underscores the industry’s nationwide momentum. The Australian Aesthetic Symposium will offer a rare chance for practitioners in the west to learn, collaborate, and engage, without crossing the Nullarbor.

Whether you’re a skin therapist, nurse injector, business owner, or brand representative, this event promises to be both professionally enriching and culturally relevant.
