Trend Alert: One Stop Shop Salons

Perhaps it’s the intense volume of competition on the beauty and aesthetics markets, or maybe it’s to meet the demand of consumers’ busy schedules and hectic lifestyles. Whatever the reason, we’re seeing a steady rise in the quantity and popularity of ‘one-stop-shops’. Who can argue with the sheer ease of having all of one’s beauty treatments done under one roof, even in a single visit?

And when we say ‘all under one roof’ we don’t exaggerate. More clinics are expanding their services to offer true convenience to clients, meaning they no longer have to visit a range of salons and clinics to meet their full list of beauty needs. Clients are now able to book in a hair cut and colour with a side of waxing, capped off with some anti-wrinkle injections – all with a drink in hand, and all in the one convenient location.

Christopher Hanna in central Sydney is perhaps one of the most well-known, with their new Bridge Street salon housing a full list of hair services, in addition to a Skin Clinic with facial rejuvenation treatments and cosmetic injectables, plus a fully stocked bar complete with delicious cocktails (and mocktails for those receiving injectables!) plus food menu. Clients can take a seat in a plush leather barber chair and in an instant be served a coffee or cocktail of choice from a handsomely dressed waiter.

“The idea was to combine hair, cosmetic beauty and a lounge bar all under one roof but in a way that had never been done before,” said co-founder Sam Badawi.

“This is a place where people are pampered to the max, feel relaxed, and everything just flows from the food to the treatments to the cocktails. Whether you’ve booked in for hair styling or having injectables or laser, we’ve designed it so your husband or your friends can be waiting for you in the bar or lounge – or you can have a drink and fine food while you’re having your hair done.”

The Bridal Bar in Sydney’s Caringbar is another example of the all-in-one salon; everything from hair and styling to beauty and even event planning. TBB founder Amy Maree believes it’s not just the convenience that drives her success, but also providing a star treatment throughout the entire journey – which can often be a lengthy one! “The Bridal Bar is not only for brides, but a place designed so the everyday girl (or guy) can go and be treated like a Bride. I spent 10+ years servicing brides and realised how much special treatment you are given when you are in the prep stage of planning your big day and I felt that EVERYONE should be treated like this for any occasion. So TBB was born and we are the ultimate hair, health and beauty “hub” with everything you could dream of under one roof.”

Sydney is also home to Wild Life Hair & Beauty’s three salons (Surry Hills, Milsons Point and Mcmahons Point) who offer full hair cut, colour and style services along with anti-wrinkle injections, facials, peels, micro-needling, nails, waxing, massage and makeup.

But this trend isn’t just limited to Sydney – for Melbourne it’s Skinn Deep Beauty for hairdressing plus injectables, facials, PRP, Thread Lifts, IPL, waxing and makeup, and for Brisbane it’s Brooklyn Beauty Bar, for a speakeasy-style hub of nails, tanning, blow waves, injectables, facials, waxing, feather tattooing, brows and lashes, complete with specialty gin bar – plus bubbles, beer, select spirits, juice and soft drinks for those that aren’t fans of gin.
