Spa Vision Looks To The Future

Neil Owen speaks exclusively with SPA+CLINIC on their milestone partnership, and the future Australian wellness market

Global spa equipment supplier Spa Vision have excitedly shared the news that this year, they will celebrate a milestone partnership – their ten year anniversary of working with Kurland; ground-breaking creators in spa technology and treatment design.

Neil Owen, Director at Spa Vision who heads up Asia Pacific operations, tells SPA+CLINIC how it’s been working alongside Kurland for the past decade. “For over 20 years I have always admired Kurland’s innovative DNA both as an end user and operator.  Now as a business partner, they are truly a delight to work with. They have always adopted their own approach, never following others but having confidence in their own style, which is a rarity these days. For us, it is all about the guest experience and this is mirrored with Kurland, through the creation of  memorable experiences with wellness at their core.”

Neil tells us that, as is so often the case throughout the aesthetics and wellness landscape, Australia is a ways behind the rest of the world, but Spa Vision’s relationship with Kurland has allowed them to bring globally-trending innovation to the Australian market.

“There is no doubt that Australia & New Zealand are behind the European market in terms of thermal spa developments.  In this region, thermal experiences are a rarity and almost exclusive to hot spring facilities, whereas in Europe they are also aligned with day and hotel spa experiences. As a business model it’s great, essentially allowing more guests to enjoy wellness with lower overheads – what’s not to like. Our aim in partnership with Kurland is to further develop the use of thermal experiences in Australia & New Zealand, increase awareness of the benefits to both guests and operators and add value to the growing regional wellness industry.”

Esa Ranta, owner of Kurland GmbH, says “We are proud to have such a competent partner in Spa Vision, who support us actively with their expertise – in the UK and Australia as well as internationally. In close cooperation we have realised great projects and created extraordinary wellness experiences. All future projects will also benefit from this valuable cooperation”.

As a spa and wellness consultant in Australia and throughout the globe, Spa Vision’s use of patented equipment and systems from Kurland (including the Soft-Pack®-System, Sabbia Med®, Salve in Terra®, Rasul® and the exciting SnowBliss experience) has allowed them to create some of their most impressive and significant projects over the past decade, and develop their reputation for producing some of the most jaw-dropping spa experiences on a global scale.

Some of the experiences that Spa Vision and Kurland have conceptualised together include the renowned sites of Mottram Hall, Ye Olde Bell, Woolacombe Bay, The Fife Arms and Mill Wheel – in the UK alone. Each of these required a tailored approach to align with both design and aspiration for the individual spas.
