Venus Concept Hosts Celebrity Doctor

Last night, Venus Concept were delighted to host a private 3-course dinner at Studio, Sydney Tower. Current and prospective Venus stockists, media and friends of the brand gathered at Sydney’s highest and most iconic dinner venue to learn more about the innovative device brand, their exciting upcoming launches, and of course, pick the brains of the evening’s drawcard – Dr. Sonia Batra.

A board-certified Dermatologist and television show co-host on the Emmy award-winning tv show ‘The Doctors’, Dr Batra engaged guests with her expertise and first-hand experience on topics including pigmentation, scarring, sun damage, acne, stretch marks, skin tightening, body contouring & cellulite reduction, hair removal and hair transplant technology.

She also spoke exclusively with SPA+CLINIC on all things work-life balance, her practice, her family and her favourite clinical devices.

Tell us about your current role
I am the founder and medical director of a dermatology practice in Santa Monica, CA. We perform a full array of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology including Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer as well as injectables, peels, devices and laser treatments for skin rejuvenation.

What do you love most about it?
I love the leadership role and autonomy of running the practice. I enjoy researching new treatments and procedures and implementing them so our practice can remain innovative and evidence-based.

Your greatest achievement to date?
Thus far, my greatest achievement is managing the balancing act of running a busy dermatology practice, co-hosting The Doctors medical talk show on CBS, and with my surgeon husband, raising two great children.

Tell us why you love working with Venus?
I love working with Venus because they couple effective devices with excellent clinical support and training.  Their treatments have helped us steadily increase patient satisfaction and demand for aesthetic procedures.

Which is your favourite Venus treatment/device and why?
The Venus Viva nanofractional radiofrequency treatment is my favourite. Practicing in Los Angeles, I needed a device that was safe in different skin colours and types, especially tanned and ethnic skin, and that could address skin tone, texture, and scarring.  I can adjust the intensity of the settings to match the aggressiveness and down time with the patient’s needs and schedule.

This international visit from the celebrity doctor also coincides with the annual ASCD Symposium this weekend, where Dr Sonia will be delivering several talks on topics including combination therapies and PRP.
