How To: Meghan Markle’s Magic

Well, it’s (almost) official!  Hand in hand, Prince Harry proudly brought his girlfriend Meghan Markle to a highly public wheelchair tennis match in Toronto today – their first official appearance together as a couple.

They arrived, fingers entwined, to the Invictus Games semi-final, in full view of members of the public and photographers.

Harry is the patron and passionate advocate of the Games, for injured war veterans. It was at an awareness raising event for the the forthcoming Games in Toronto more than a year ago that he famously met Meghan.

The couple sat at the side of the court together whispering and laughing as well as cheering on the players from Australia and New Zealand.

Meghan looked cool despite the 30 degree heat in a white D&G boyfriend shirt that looked as if she could have stolen it from Harry’s wardrobe, sunglasses and ripped blue jeans.

Their “rehearsal” first official appearance was on the weekend, when the couple attended the opening ceremony – 18 seats apart.

The prince sat in the VIP box alongside US First Lady Melania Trump and amid a coterie of other dignitaries, including Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and his First Lady, Sophie.

These much-anticipated appearances are predicted to pave the way for the announcement of their engagement.

It’s said Meghan has already met the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, and William and Kate, and will reportedly spend a great deal more time from now on in London, where she shares Harry’s cottage within the Kensington Palace grounds.

So … we’d better get really familiar with the actress’s beauty and health routine as very soon a lot of your clients are going to want to copy it, if they aren’t asking for it already.

Her signature look is radiant health (courtesy yoga and clean eating), long glossy tresses and pared down but uber-polished makeup to allow her natural beauty (and freckles) to shine through.

Meghan, 36, has previously shared the secrets to her low-key beauty look on her lifestyle website, The Tig, and in interviews with Allure, Express and Birchbox. Here’s a snapshot:

GO BACK TO BASICS

“My routine is very simple,” says Meghan. “I call it the five-minute face. It’s just Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat, curled lashes, mascara, Chapstick and a little bit of blush.” Speaking about Touche Éclat, an iconic concealing/highlighting product, she adds: “It blends, it’s compact and if you’ve worked a 17-hour day and have nothing else on, you will still look relatively alive … relatively.”

DRAMATIC FLAIR

When she wants to add a touch of drama to her makeup look, The Suits star uses “MAC Teddy Eye Kohl, which is a really beautiful brown that has some gold in it. A makeup artist I work with often, Kayleen McAdams, turned me on to it”.
