Our Cosmoprof Trend Forecast For 2018

Cosmoprof Trends

While our heads are still spinning from the thousands of products and devices we saw at Cosmoprof last week, Beauty Streams, a renowned global beauty trends forecasting agency, curated the latest in beauty and cosmetic treatments and highlighted the next big things seen at the expo.

Their report was the reference point for the beauty community at Cosmoprof Asia 2017 as it unveiled the newest trends, latest innovations, and beauty solutions underlined by the top products in the Asia Pacific region.

We’ve rounded up the five biggest new tendencies we predict to become great selling points next year.

1. From Sentient Beings

Looking for common substances between humans and animals, companies produce formulations that help repair skin, using bio-engineered ingredients such as placenta extracts, spermine, and egg stem cells.

EMU Tracks Australia Pure Emu Oil: Emu Oil is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory that can effectively relieve joint pain associated with arthritis. Emu Oil is a versatile remedial oil that aids in the relief of chronic skin conditions, itching and irritations, great for treatment of minor burns, rashes, insect bites, cradle cap, nappy rash, scarring, redness, and dryness.

2. Freeze Frame

Using flash-freezing and freeze-drying technologies, these products preserve the active ingredients in skincare, becoming active only when they’re mixed with water and applied to the skin.

COSSEN Freeze – Dried Collagen Ball: The collagen used is of high purity, complete triple-helical structure and extracted by advanced biological engineering technology, completely different from the hydrolyzed collagen molecules used in other general beauty and health products in the market.  The collagen can replenish the lack of skin’s collagen, soothe and repair skin, increase skin elasticity and keep the skin healthy and luster.

3. Freshly Pressed

In order for consumers to get maximum benefits from the high-tech formulations, often-volatile ingredients are now preserved in some of the latest skincare. Rather than having a pre-mixed final product, the actives, over-volatile ingredients are combined just before they’re applied to the skin to keep them protected and more potent.

SLC ELMOLU Sherbet Modelling Mask: This mask comes in powder and gel elements, packaged in convenient pouches. Both powder and gel are mixed together just before applying to create a peel-off mask. This mask helps to reduce wrinkles, clear pores, brighten skin and combat dehydration.

4. Doctor In The House

DIY advanced beauty treatments at home are definitely on the rise with some of the latest beauty inventions offering the power of dermatologist-level technology and salon-level treatments in the comfort of your own home.

Azure Radiance-Pro Anti-Wrinkle PhotoTherapy: With a clearance from US Food & Drug Administration  (“FDA”) as a 510K home use device, this new invention uses LED lights to treat the skin for three minutes a day, resulting in a reduction of wrinkles over a two-month period.

5. City Care

Among the pollution, dust, toxins and air conditioning, this is an emerging category to address these negative effects of city living on the skin. The products from this category also seek to combat the emotional impact of urban dwelling, addressing stress, lack of sleep, and eating on the go.

Advanced Natural Australia Mind My Youth Face Cream: This multipurpose face cream works as an anti-aging cream as well as a defense against pollution. Mind My Youth contains Pollushield, which combines a polymer with metal bonding properties, preventing heavy metals and particle matter from penetrating the skin. It also blends with stem cells to help fight the signs of aging, leaving skin smoother, brighter and fewer wrinkles.
