Give Back and You Will Receive

As our population gets older, Millennials are getting closer and closer to snatching the baton away from Baby Boomers – not to mention the largest transfer of wealth in the history of the world.

“How are Millennials going to collectively spend that $30 trillion?” asks Forbes, one of the world’s most respected media channels that focuses on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership and lifestyle.

“Nobody’s really sure yet, but one thing is clear: Millennials have distinct values, predilections, habits and fears tied to their earning and spending habits, same as the older generations always did.

“Millennials on average are more risk-averse and are less likely to spend money unnecessarily than previous generations.

“But when Millennials do decide to part with their money, key patterns are beginning to emerge. They prefer to do business with corporations and brands with pro-social messages, sustainable manufacturing methods and ethical business standards.

“One of the ways this preference is manifesting is in the Millennial generation’s preference for socially responsible marketing.”

This is all powerful food for thought as you plan your business and marketing strategies for 2018 and beyond.

One thing is indisputable – thinking bigger than yourself, giving back and to those in need, generates incalculable goodwill. And without being cynical, that can’t be bad for business!

It doesn’t have to be a huge gesture – it can be a small act of kindness to an individual client, support for a community initiative, fundraising for or championing a cause you believe in.

SPA+CLINIC was impressed to receive news of Australian eco-luxe skincare brand Sodashi’s new charitable e-commerce initiative.

Sodashi will be supporting Australian and internationally-based projects themed around women’s empowerment, child protection and supporting Aussies in crisis.

The brand has partnered with i=Change that enables Sodashi’s online customers to make donations to selected Australian and international charities with every purchase and will donate $1 to one of the projects from every purchase made on its online store SODASHI.COM.

“Sodashi is passionate about supporting causes which empower women and improve the lives of women and children in Australia and around the world,” said founder Megan Larsen.

“We’re proud to launch this initiative and to make a positive impact. We are humbled to partner with our customers to support the important work that is being done by these charities.’’

If a customer does not specify a chosen charity, Sodashi will still make a $1 donation to one of the charities, selected at random.

It is supporting:

Build a woman’s future – Akilah Institute

Protect children – Child Wise

Feed Aussies in crisis – Foodbank Australia
